Our Baby Room – Bumble Bees

We understand the transition from home is important and value your input as a parent immensely, as you know your baby better than anyone else. We aim to follow your routine at home as closely as possible to ensure a smooth transition into nursery. We will take your lead when it comes to weaning, and work with both parent and kitchen staff to ensure that your child’s dietary requirements are met through all stages of weaning and beyond.

Our nurturing baby room provides a safe and stimulating environment with fun and exciting experiences and the freedom to explore, learn and grow. Our Carers are warm and welcoming, they ensure an immediate bond is built with parent and baby and are dedicated to help your baby thrive in a place that feels like home. We have up to six babies from 12 weeks to 16 months and our staff to children ratio is 1:3 so there are lots of opportunities for cuddles!

We believe sensory play is important for babies development and we encourage them to explore their world through experiences that allow them to get messy with paint, cornflour, sand and gloop which they find so much fun and gives them confidence to explore in new and exciting ways.

Our fun and safe outdoor space gives babies the opportunity to investigate and use their senses to explore and discover. We love our walks around the village and to the park, constantly learning about life outside the nursery and in the outside community.

Our Toddler Room – Ladybirds

Our Ladybird room offers toddlers a fun and interactive environment with creative activities and sensory play that excites and stimulates. They also have a lovely role play area where children can be seen cooking lunch and making endless cups of tea for everyone. Dedicated Carers provide a mix of child and adult led experiences, following their individual interests. They encourage self-confidence, critical thinking and the opportunity to shine.

Children love exploring our outdoor area which supports their physical development and offers the chance to try new and exciting experiences from balancing, climbing and riding equipment, to getting messy in mud, sand and water play.

After a delicious, freshly cooked meal, it’s time to snuggle up for a nap and re-charge for another action-packed afternoon!

Our Caterpillars and Butterflies

Children continue their adventure up to the second floor which has two spacious and free flowing rooms, catering for two to five-year olds. A huge variety of play-based activities are provided. There is the freedom to sample all the wonderful areas from making their own playdough to creating cardboard box games using their full imagination.

Towards the end of the academic year, teachers from the older children’s new schools are invited to visit. This gives teachers a valuable insight into the childs likes, dislikes and skills and gives the children a chance to get to know their new teachers. By the time children finish nursery, we are so proud of our delightful, confident, happy children, who are ready to move on to the next stage of their life journey.

Our Garden

We have never met a child who doesn’t love exploring, climbing and generally getting messy, so our lovely garden is very popular.

Our spacious area gives our children the freedom to roam around, run off some energy, get some fresh air and even grow vegetables, in a safe, fun environment. Our children all spend a lot of time making the most of it, whatever the weather!

We encourage parents to bring wet weather clothes all year, and sun hats in the warmer months. We never miss a chance to get outside and experience the great British weather, the changes in seasons and how this affects the natural world. This leads to valuable learning opportunities, and the chance to interact with older and younger children and siblings.

The Early Years Foundation Stage promotes the outdoor environment as having a positive impact on the children’s sense of wellbeing, and supports all areas of development.

We encourage our children’s natural curiosity and eagerness to learn about the world by using the village facilities as well such as visits to the shops, library, park, fire station and the local school.

Children have daily opportunities to play outdoors in the fresh air. Staff provide children with equipment, so they can practice their climbing and balancing skills.

Children’s emotional development is well supported by staff. Staff are quick to respond to children who are struggling with their emotions, offering additional support.

Sensory Room

Our separate sensory room has an array of equipment creating a calm relaxing environment for all age groups. We believe that access to a sensory room makes a big difference to a child, whether they simply enjoy the mood lighting and light-up toys, or require extra sensory time to deal with a complex range of emotions that they do not truly understand; our sensory room is at their disposal.

Soft Play Room

We are very fortunate to have a separate soft play room on the top floor. This is very popular with all the children. The children can explore and test their physical abilities whilst having fun in a safe and controlled manner. They can work on stepping, crawling, jumping and rolling, building on their motor skills and balance.
