Tax Free Childcare
This is a government scheme which replaces childcare vouchers. Parents must check whether they are eligible and set up an online childcare account via the Government’s Childcare Choices website. The government will top-up the money parents pay into the account. For every £8 paid in, the government will add an extra £2 up to a maximum of £2,000 per child per year – that’s up to £500 every three months (double this amount is available to parents of children with disabilities). Claremont Day Nursey is registered to receive payments from Tax Free Childcare accounts.
Funding for the 9+Months to 2 Year Old’s
Claremont Day Nursery is approved for the Early Years Education scheme. Eligible children receive a government grant for a place for a maximum of 570 hours per year. This can provide 30 hours a week for the 38 weeks during school term, or “stretched” and taken as 22 hours a week over 51 weeks. Parents must apply via the online portal on their local County Council website, this is usually Northamptonshire County Council.
Funding for all 3 & 4 Year Old’s (15 and 30 Hours)
All children aged 3 and 4 years are entitled to 570 hours per year of grant funding from the start of the grant term after their 3rd birthday, this can be taken as either 30 hours per week for 38 weeks or “stretched” to 22 hours per week for 51 weeks. Claremont Day Nursery also offers the extended entitlement of a further 570 hours per year for eligible children, giving you 30 hours per week. Parents will need to sign up for the extended entitlement via the Government’s childcare choices website to obtain a “30-hour eligibility code”. Parents are advised to sign up in the term before they wish to claim as there are deadlines for doing this. The deadlines are by 31st August to be able to claim the extended funding in the Autumn term, by 31st December for the Spring term and by 31st March for the Summer term. Parents must also reconfirm their eligibility every 3 months to be able to continue claiming the extended funding.
Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP)
If your child is 3 or 4 years old and receiving grant funding then we could claim an additional amount per year for each child. Parents are encouraged to apply for EYPP if they are in receipt of certain benefits, (Income Support, Income based Jobseekers Allowance, Income related Employment and Support Allowance, Child Tax Credit, Working Tax Credit) or if the child has been looked after by the Local Authority, been adopted from care or is subject to a Child Arrangements Order. The premium can be spent on supporting the development, learning and care of your child.
Free Settling In Sessions
Before your child starts at nursery, we will invite you to come along for several introductory sessions. This will be an opportunity for you and your child to get to know us, and for us to get to know you. We will go through the nursery routines and find out about your child’s routines, likes and dislikes.
